Steps to ensure that the work is done efficiently and effectively
To ensure proper assessment and a comprehensive restoration plan, find a qualified engineer who specializes in concrete restoration through recommendations or local building department listings. Once you have an engineer, they will conduct a thorough inspection to determine the scope of work, including assessing the condition of the concrete and checking compliance with local regulations. Based on the inspection, the engineer will develop a repair plan that outlines the scope of work, estimated costs, and timeline for the project to ensure a timely and efficient restoration process. After developing the repair plan, put the project out to bid to contractors who specialize in concrete restoration and evaluate proposals based on cost, experience, and reputation. Before beginning the restoration work, obtain necessary permits from the local building department to ensure compliance with regulations and prevent potential delays or issues. Once all permits are obtained and a contractor is selected, the restoration work can begin, including repairing or replacing concrete elements and upgrading outdated systems according to the repair plan and under the engineer's supervision. After the restoration work is completed, the engineer will perform a final inspection to ensure compliance with the repair plan and local regulations before submitting the necessary documentation for building recertification, certifying the building's safety and structural soundness for occupancy.01

A South Florida engineering company dedicated to serving homeowners’ and condominium Associations in the restoration and general repairs of their buildings. For 38 years our engineers have professionally worked supervising general contractors and we are happy to state that GC Construction, run by Jorge Cabada, G.C., is one of the better contractors we have had the pleasure of working with. GC Construction is currently working on our 50 year certification construction project. When I became the President of Oceanside Plaza Condominium in October 2019, I hired an outside engineering consulting group to evaluate and make recommendations going forward on our 50 year certification. Based upon their recommendation that the quality of work too date is competently and professionally performed, Oceanside has expanded G's work which originated in our "B" line, to now encompass the "C" and "D" lines, elevator towers, chattahoochee removal, line "N" and "M" emergency repairs, etc. We have found their pricing to be competitive.
